| Position Summary | The Department of Pediatrics at the University of New MexicoHealth Sciences Center is seeking an experienced clinician in Critical Care at the Associate Professor or Professor Level to serve asDivision Chief for Pediatric Critical Care. The successful candidate will have aproven record of accomplishment in leadership, excellent clinical service andpatient care, research and scholarship, education, program development andmentorship. Growth and development of junior faculty within the division is apriority for the department and offers tremendous leadership opportunity. This innovative, academic leader willhave program oversight responsibility for the Pediatric Critical Care Division,including pediatric/neonatal ECMO and the Pediatric Sedation Services. Theywill also oversee and participate in ongoing research in the division UNM is a member of the NIH Clinical andtranslational Science Award Consortium since 2010 and is a leader in biomedicalresearch for the state. Now in the fourth cycle of funding, the new SouthwestCenter for Advancing Clinical & Translational Innovation (SW CACTI) is acollaboration between University of Arizona (U of A) and UNM; this is a seven-year, $43.6 million federalgrant to fund a broad range of research programs aimed at improving the healthof people living in New Mexico and Arizona and training a new generation ofscientists and staff In addition, Department of Pediatrics is part of two largeNIH funded networks: Neonatology Research Network and IDeA State PediatricClinical Trail Network. New Mexico’s richcultural and linguistic diversity make it a fascinating and exceptional placeto live and work.
