The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a full-time Pediatric Radiologist. This is a faculty position that reports to the Department Chair.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Pediatric Radiology section and will provide primary diagnostic and consultative service in Pediatric Imaging for exams performed at multiple locations. All faculty are responsible for teaching and overseeing diagnostic radiology residents, fellows, and medical students. Most daily clinical assignments will involve direct resident supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research and publications staff.
Successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations. The candidate must be ABR board certified or board eligible and have completed a Pediatric Radiology fellowship or have equivalent pediatric experience by the starting date of their appointment. Candidates who have a willingness and experience in another related area of specialty (i.e. Abdominal Imaging, Cardiothoracic, Neuroradiology, Emergency Radiology, Ultrasound, etc.) would be beneficial. Optimal candidates will have scholarly experience and interest.
The Department of Radiology provides services for the UNM Hospital, a 580-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center including UNM Children’s Hospital; the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center; the 71-bed Sandoval Regional Medical Center; and the 320-bed Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center.
