Position Summary | The University of New Mexico NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC) and the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UNM School of Medicine seek ambitious physicians or physician scientists with training and expertise in medical oncology and a focused interest in the management of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. The successful applicant will become the local expert in colorectal cancer and serve as a clinician, clinical-investigator, and/or physician-scientist and to interact seamlessly with the UNMCCC Multidisciplinary Clinical Working Group in GI Malignancies focused on the design of cancer clinical trials and correlative studies. State-of-the-art facilities along with excellent opportunities are available for research collaborations with laboratory investigators, population scientists, and clinical trialists. This is an Open Rank, Open Track position. Faculty rank and appointment will be commensurate with accomplishments. The successful applicant will have fellowship training and experience in the clinical care of GI and a strong interest in the development and conduct of clinical trials in colorectal cancer. Emphasis is placed on the ability to foster collaborations and participate in the teaching mission of the Division and the Center.
