Position Summary

The University of New Mexico ("UNM") School of Law invites applications for faculty positions starting in the Fall of 2019. The Law School anticipates filling several tenured or tenure-track faculty positions this hiring season. Our curricular needs are somewhat fluid given potential retirements and faculty sabbaticals and leaves. We anticipate appointing faculty to meet our needs in the areas of Civil Procedure, Property, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, along with other possible curricular needs. Both experienced and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Offering a J.D. degree, the UNM School of Law is nationally recognized for innovative classes that combine law practice skills training with doctrinal instruction and a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Our faculty is one of the most ethnically and racially diverse faculties in the country, and our student body is similarly diverse. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a J.D. or equivalent legal degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A record of demonstrated excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching.

  • A record of demonstrated excellence or the promise of excellence in academic scholarship.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
