Operations Manager - req# 12485
|Working Title||Operations Manager|
The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) has been an independent department at the UNM School of Medicine since April 1, 1967. Under the leadership of Dr. David Rakel, Chair, the Department is an enthusiastic and dynamic environment where faculty, staff, and students are engaged in academic scholarship, collaboration and providing effective healthcare and programs for rural and urban New Mexico. Our culturally diverse population is one of our strengths, with a spirit of equity, partnership and respect permeating our community, both internally and externally. Our curricula are designed to be innovative, practical and relevant to the community’s changing needs.
The Physician Assistant Program is administered within the Department of Family & Community Medicine and is a single focus program whose scope reaches outside of the city and state. The role of Physician Assistant was created 50 years ago to address practitioner shortages and has grown both in number of PAs and in scope of practice. Today, the Physician Assistant is a vital member of the medical team. Physician Assistants at UNM train side-by-side with medical students. Thus, they are prepared to seamlessly step into the team model with their medical peers.
