Position Summary

The University of New Mexico is seekingan Operations Manager to join the Department of Dental Medicine,Division of Dental Services. The Department of Dental Medicine has a primary missionof delivering education and a full spectrum of clinical care.

The Departmentof Dental Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine inAlbuquerque is looking for a full-time OperationsManager to participate in the development of, and to oversee implementationand administration of Dental’s policies, systems, and procedures. Additionally,this position will help prepare financial and operational analysis for twodivisions, the department and the creation/expansion of new/existing programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of assigned educational and clinical components of Dental Hygiene and Dental Services.
  • Supervises the staff of assigned educational and clinical components of Dental Hygiene and Dental Services.
  • Ensure compliance with university, local, state, and federal policies and regulations
  • Assists and partner in the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the Department, Dental Hygiene, Dental Services, and the Special Care Dental Clinic.
  • Participates in and coordinates the design and implementation of data collection and analysis systems.
  • Reviews and interprets financial and operating information
  • Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
  • Participates in the development of annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the unit.
  • May deputize for the head of the unit as required.

Conditions of Employment
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • If located at the UNM Children's Campus, successful candidate must pass a comprehensive post-offer, pre-employment criminal and New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) fingerprint background check, and a continued successful status will be verified by periodic future background checks.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Accounting
  • Experience supervising three or more employees
  • Experience with UNM Banner, Chrome River, and HR Reports
  • Knowledge of School of Medicine Internal Procedures
  • Experience overseeing Educational and Clinical Functions
