Position Summary

The New Mexico Statistical Analysis Center(NMSAC), a research center at the Institute for Social Research, houses theIntimate Partner Violence Death Review Team (IPVDRT).

The New Mexico Intimate Partner Violence Death Review Team (IPVDRT) is a multi-disciplinary fatality review practice authorized by NMSA §31-22-4.1 and funded by the New Mexico Crime Victim Reparations Commission. Fatality review is a method of inquiry that seeks to identify ways to improve prevention and intervention efforts through an examination of the facts and circumstances preceding a death. The IPVDRT focuses on local, state, and federal programs and practices that aim to prevent injury and death in incidents of intimate partner and sexual violence.

The NMSAC isseeking an operations specialist for the IPVDRT.

The Operations Specialist is responsible for identifying cases for review. Collect and summarize data from various sources (e.g., law enforcement, courts, Office of the Medical Investigator, social media) for presentation to the IPVDRT. Planning and coordinating Team and subcommittee meetings. Facilitating team meetings in conjunction with the Chairperson of the Team under the New Mexico Open Meetings Act. Present case data at Team meetings via Zoom or in person. Entering and analyzing data for the annual report; preparing the annual report and process evaluation report. Recruit and orient new IPVDRT members; and acting as a spokesperson and subject matter expert for the Team.

Required qualifications:

· Must be able to gather data from multiple sources, synthesize the data, and summarize for presentation and analyses

· Must have good verbal communication and presentation skills

· Must have good written communication skills

· Must be organized and meet deadlines

· Interest in public health/prevention of intimate partner violence

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in a social services, public health or criminal justice field.

· Knowledge of the dynamics of intimate partner violence, including risk and protective factors.

· Knowledge of the New Mexico intimate partner violence service system and its agencies.

· Knowledge of the New Mexico criminal justice system.

· Prior research experience

· Experience using structured data abstraction tools and methods to retrieve information from law enforcement, judicial, or autopsy records, or other official sources

· Ability to create high-quality written reports
