Applications are invited for a full-time 12-month, Assistant Professor in-person faculty position in a 3-year entry-level DPT program (http://orthopaedics.unm.edu/pt/), with eleven core faculty positions and a small, culturally diverse student body (30 students per class).
Faculty responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position requires an educator who is flexible, innovative, and collaborative to fulfill the responsibilities in this learner-centered entry level DPT program.
The UNM Division of Physical Therapy is located in the culturally diverse city of Albuquerque which lies in the high desert ecosystem in central New Mexico. The city straddles the Rio Grande River and is bordered by the Sandia Mountains on the East and a string of five inactive volcanoes on the West. A number of Native American Reservations and Pueblos exist in or near the city. Besides being renowned for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, numerous hiking and biking trails are within easy access and river rafting and skiing are just around the corner. The University of New Mexico is a federally designated Hispanic Serving Research University and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Physical Therapy program has been a CAPTE accredited program since its inception in 1974. The School of Medicine has state-of-the-art resources including: up-to-date contemporary classrooms, interprofessional healthcare simulation center, a human gross anatomy lab equipped with downdraft tables, a self-contained human donor program, and a newly renovated Gait and Motion Analysis Lab for research and clinical use.
