Position Summary

UNM’s Facilities Management (FM) has a greatopportunity for talented and self motivated Plumber 2 to join our FM-Area 2.The qualified candidate will perform independent preventive maintenance and emergency repairs onplumbing and gas systems.

FM-Area 2 is assigned to the Health ServicesCenter (HSC) section of UNM and requires working in medical laboratories,medical clinics and medical academic spaces.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Possession of a current New Mexico Journeyman Plumber's License.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • NewMexico Gas Fitters License (JPG)
  • Experienceworking in the medical environment
  • Experiencekeeping accurate maintenance records using a personal touch screen mobiledevice (I-Pad)
