Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and dedicated Professional Intern to join our team. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, interactive simulation-based training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of future healthcare professionals. This role offers the opportunity to shape the learning experiences of students while utilizing the latest technology to create realistic, hands-on educational environments.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based educational activities for Anesthesia Residents and Anesthesia Assistant Program students.
  • Support the coordination of simulation sessions, including setup, facilitation, and debriefing.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to design simulation scenarios that align with learning objectives and program goals.
  • Provide technical support for simulation equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during sessions.
  • Help maintain and manage simulation labs, ensuring they are organized and fully equipped for educational use.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to participant performance, outcomes, and feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation of training materials and resources for simulation educators and learners.
  • Participate in the development of assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation training.
  • Stay up-to-date with current simulation technologies, best practices, and educational methodologies.
  • Support the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster a team-based approach to simulation education.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and improvements in simulation education activities.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must present transcripts prior to a formal offer being extended.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.
Minimum Qualifications

Must have obtained a Bachelor's or higher level degree no more than 24 months prior to the date of hire OR if the Bachelor's (or higher level) degree was obtained more than 24 months prior to the date of hire, the individual must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher level) degree program; no previous work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Creative and observant individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced educational environment
  • A degree or background in Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Any level of experience in healthcare (hospital, clinic, or similar environment).
  • Experience with simulation-based education is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for teaching, innovation, and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
