Position Summary

The Office of Education, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Medical Education Program Assistant 1to join the administrative team to support and assist in the coordination allaspects of the Undergraduate Medical Education program within InternalMedicine. The Program Assistant, willhelp the Program Specialist create schedules, assigns clinical teams, sendalerts and reminders, collect evaluations for students, tracks student progressand completion of requirements, coordinate with faculty to update curriculumand student information each block. The program Assistant has primaryresponsibility for Phase 3 and SUB-I program including reviewing applicationsin VSAS, coordinating visiting student rotations and UNM studentelectives. This also includeddistributing and collecting evaluations and submitting grades for the ProgramDirector.

The Program Assistant will also serveas P-Card holder to complete purchases for the Clerkship events and educationalmaterials for students and may support in completing other purchases for theEducation department related to residency. May schedule meetings and reserverooms and provide other administrative support for the unit including providingsupport and direction for student employees.

This is a high priority position for a busy andcomplex department.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Stronginterpersonal communication skills. Candidate must be able to communicateeffectively, professionally, inclusively, and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstratedability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment on a daily, weekly, andmonthly basis to meet deadlines
  • Candidatemust have demonstrated effectiveness at working in a team environment andsupporting fellow employees in their work.
