|Working Title||Program Coordinator|
The main duties of the Program Coordinator are to perform as well as to coordinate the work to achieve the Spanish Colonial Research Center (SCRC) objectives. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee the SCRC in the absence of the Director.
The Program Coordinator will perform the work to accomplish the classification of documents within the SCRC collection, analyze the cartographical legend/advertisements and archival references. Incumbent will also index and digitize correspondence, assorted papers, oral history interview scripts, additional documentary sources and SCRC publications and oversee the work of at least one graduate research assistant.
Within the scope of the overall objectives and duties, the Program Coordinator will assure that classified items described above are formatted and filed in both computer and file cabinet systems and participate in public outreach presentations and program.
|Conditions of Employment|
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
1. Spanish language proficiency, including written documents, oral history techniques.
2. Computer skills inclusive of ability to digitize, classify, edit and enter documents into the SCRC database.
3. Knowledge of history related to Spain in the Southwestern U.S. and the Spanish Empire
4. Knowledge of Spanish and Mexican Period Cartography 1500-1848.
5. Spanish Paleographical skills related to ability to read and transcribe titles from Spanish Colonial documents for the period 1540-1848.
6. Project management experience in terms of completing objectives to a finished product.
