Position Summary

The Program Coordinator will assist in the planning and coordination of the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of a University of New Mexico grant program sponsored by the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education through the U.S. Department of Education. The New Mexico Open Educational Resources Consortium Pilot Program will administering an Open Textbooks Pilot Program and will grow a consortium of New Mexico colleges that work together to support the integration of Open Educational Resources (OER). To help administer a program of this size, the Office of Digital Initiatives and Scholarly Communication, the office where the OER initiative resides, will need additional support with reporting on our outcomes on the grant, budgeting the activities, and collaborating with stakeholders, and this program coordinator will fill that role.

This is a Part-Time Term position tied to the grant funding period, which runs through December of 2026. (with new funding this position may be extended beyond the initial grant period). This position will report administratively to the University of New Mexico but supports a grant-funded program accountable to New Mexico’s Higher Education Department and the federal Department of Education.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing programming for individuals traditionally underrepresented in higher education
  • Familiarity with Open Educational Resources and online learning platforms
  • Proficient in researching library databases
  • Experience working on federal grants
  • Experience assessing educational outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with various stakeholder groups both internal and external to an educational setting
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
