Position Summary | The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities. CBH is seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate a federally funded project that seeks to increase education, training and knowledge about Historical Trauma and its impact on parenting practices, child abuse and neglect, and suicide in American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations. Duties include: assisting with project coordination, implementation and logistics, including coordinating data collection efforts and training logistics, such as project materials preparation, site location research, attendance and training support as needed; manage complex scheduling; policies and procedures, as needed; provide daily support to project faculty, staff and partners; and build positive relationships with external agencies and stakeholders. This position will work closely with the project PI/PD, internal and external partners; and will assist with implementation and meeting facilitation. This position will also work closely with tribal communities, including youth. The qualified candidate should have in-depth knowledge of and experience with: project coordination and logistics; Excel; Zoom, RedCap and Smartsheets; familiarity with behavioral health issues and human services-related programs; culturally competent and able to work across diverse communities and within local tribal communities; establishing and maintaining positive community relationships; have extensive experience working or living in tribal communities scheduling meetings and events. The desired candidate for position is organized; efficient; and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position requires experience forming and maintaining relationships with tribal community members and working in a collaborative manner. This is a term, full-time, benefits eligible position. Funding for this position is expected to continue beyond June 2025. This is not a remote position, although hybrid remote work may be available on occasion. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
