Position Summary

The Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) is seeking a Program Coordinator. In this position, the successful candidate will support the activities of the Research Management Team (RMT) and work closely with the Sr. Program Manager to ensure the success of the Department and RMT research missions.

The Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) has a multi-faceted and complex programmatic research division. The faculty, staff, and learners participate in statewide, national, and international clinical and community-based research projects and scholarly activities, to varying degrees. The research mission is to advance the science of health, research, education, and service through collaboration with our diverse communities, and conduct innovative primary care research to promote health equity for all New Mexicans. This mission is actualized by the DFCM Research Management Team (RMT), whose mission is to develop, engage, and bridge academic and community scholars by supporting the life cycle of scholarly projects and grants to improve healthcare for all New Mexicans and promote health equity. The RMT’s primary functions are 1) the development, submission and monitoring of contracts and grants and 2) the provision of scholarly support services.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Provides administrative support in the development, implementation, and marketing of the Research Management Team, by coordinating meetings and events.

  • Writes, edits, and oversees distribution of promotional and educational materials.

  • Manages websites and database.

  • Monitors and tracks RMT revenues and expenses. Participates in monthly budget meetings. Responsible for travel planning, reimbursements, research participant incentive procurement, and purchases of equipment and supplies. Manages and reconciles P-card transactions adhering to UNM policies and procedures.

  • Oversees the work of lower level staff and students/interns as appropriate.

  • Maintains databases and program records. Assists in the creation of the RMT annual report and various other reports used for program initiatives.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
