Position Summary | The Accelerating Resilience Innovations in Drylands (ARID)Institute is actively hiring for a Program Manager to manage and support thenewly funded FOR-NM (Forest Research for New Mexico Water and Carbon Management).The project brings together researchers, land managers and local communities toimprove understanding and management of New Mexico’s forests and woodlandwatersheds. Current knowledge about how forest management and disturbanceaffect water resources, carbon storage, and forest health on watershed scalesis limited. This project integrates expertise in ecology, hydrology, communityengagement, and rural economics to create management solutions, spur economicdevelopment, and provide educational and job opportunities statewide. Theresearch, education, and workforce development components of FOR-NM will enablecollaborative engagement among NM institutions and organizations including UNM,New Mexico State University, Western New Mexico University, Asombro Institutefor Science Education, the Bosque Environmental Monitoring Program, and NewMexico State Forestry. Our collaboration will serve as a model for forest,water, and carbon management throughout the Southwestern United States anddryland forests globally. Duties andResponsibilities

Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
