The Division of Translational Informatics, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a term Program Manager to be the division administrative lead, who will oversee the daily operations. Duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Provide administrative and fiscal leadership to both faculty and staff - including purchasing, budget preparation and fiscal control of divisional expenditures.
  • Works with PIs to prepare budgets for studies and is responsible for the purchase of research equipment and supplies.
  • Preparation and submission of grants applications to governmental and non-governmental agencies.
  • Monitor progress of all research activities. Coordinate research administration meetings, project planning and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage faculty contracts, dual and volunteer faculty appointments.
  • Responsible for post-doc and temporary recruitment and hiring.
  • Supervise administrative, technical and student employees and maintain staff personnel files.
  • Monitor research financial files and track restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Maintain databases to ensure proper labor allocations for all faculty and staff are in place.
  • Develop, prepare, analyze and review budgets as required for various funding agencies.
  • Coordinate the Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program.
  • Manage international collaborations and sub-awards to foreign institutions. Assist with international travel and visa application process.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing annual operating budgets
  • Experience tracking and managing financial systems
  • Experience running labor distribution reports
  • Organizational skills and multi-tasking
  • Experience allocating money between accounts accordingly
  • Experience with faculty and staff hiring, promotion and contract drafting
  • Experience working with foreign institutions, international travel, and visa application process
