Position Summary

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing's (CON) is seeking a goal-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated Program Specialist. The Program Specialist position is part of the clinical affairs office at the college. This position will be responsible for the implementation of the four year Health Resources and Services Administration for the Advanced Practice Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) grant. Candidate must be proficient in MS Office Suite and database management skills. The following duties and responsibilities are anticipated:

  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring activities for the HRSA advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) implementation.
  • Coordinate activities that support clinical partnerships, including stewardship, training and retention of preceptors. This activity will require travel throughout the state of NM.
  • Coordinate and maintain the formalized partnerships between clinical training sites and the UNM College of Nursing. The focus will be on finding clinical site rotations in rural and/or underserved communities.
  • Coordinate with the principle investigator to recruit and retain preceptors who provide oversight and guidance for the ANEW primary care advanced practice.
  • Provide support for the College of Nursing Objective Structured Clinical Exams for the primary care advanced practice students as part of the ANEW grant objectives.
  • Write, edit, and coordinate the development of promotional materials, training manuals, and newsletters, in support of program objectives.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree.

· Experience working in a health-related and/or academic environment.

· Familiarity with medical and clinical care concepts and terminology
