Position Summary

Leads assigned portions of UNM Health Sciences Center capital projects, working collaboratively with a University Hospital Planner and stakeholders throughout the Health Sciences Center. Manages assigned capital projects or capital program tasks, to ensure that the project and program goals are met within the prescribed time frames and funding targets.

  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in civil engineering or architecture
  • Proficiency with Auto CAD, MS Project
  • General construction knowledge
  • Ability to approve installations
  • Ability to select, evaluate, coordinate, and identify quality control concerns related to professional consultants
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction documents and specifications
  • Familiarity with FastTrack
  • Good customer service skills, ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General knowledge of state procurement processes
  • Experience working in an academic healthcare setting
