Position Summary |
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at University of New Mexico Health Sciences is accepting applications for an academic faculty forensic psychologist, suitable for appointment at the rank of Research Assistant Professor. This assignment will be through the department’s Division of Forensic Behavioral Sciences. Broad based forensic skills to include knowledge of the law in relation to clinical practice are central to this position. This position will work extensively with criminal justice agencies and the New Mexico Human Services Division, delivering forensic behavioral health assessments and be responsible for a range of duties related to legal proceedings, including analysis of legal issues and how they stand within the legal jurisdiction in question, and using a research-based approach to answer legal questions or problems. This position will include a combination of clinical and educational activities to include supervision of forensic post-doctoral students, psychiatry residents, and participation in direct forensic services in the community. More specifically, roles and responsibilities of this position will be as follows:
