Position Summary

The UNM Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Senior Fiscal Services Tech with excellent accounting, analytical, computer, and organizational skills to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be a professional, detail-oriented individual with proven problem-solving ability and strong oral and written communication skills to interact with faculty and staff at all levels.

Our Senior Fiscal Services Tech will be responsible for a variety of duties including: initiating, processing, and maintaining records of a variety of complex fiscal, budgetary, and other associated transactions. Investigating and resolving problems related to funds, budgets, expenditures, and/or procurement practices, and providing reports and analyses on complex fiscal issues. Will also provide assistance in the development, implementation, and management of fiscal systems and procedures, applying basic concepts, methods, and techniques.

Specific duties include:

  • Creating and processing monthly non-standard payouts
  • Assisting with effort and resource allocations and salary agreements
  • Creating journal vouchers, requesting and terming indices
  • Processing and maintaining faculty and trainee professional development accounts
  • UNM purchasing card holder; assisting faculty and staff with Chrome River
  • Serving as time- keeper and approver

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer degree in business or accounting
  • Experience working with UNM systems including: MyReports, EPrints, Banner
  • Experience handling EPAFs, PHAREDS, NSPs
  • Expertise with MS Outlook, Excel, Smartsheet, Word and Teams
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
