UNM’s Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) provides seamless delivery of professional support services to internal clients using best practices in capital project planning, development, and construction. We provide comprehensive, strategic guidance on the institution’s built environment, including campus master planning, programming, architectural development, building efforts and best design practices. The Sr. Project/Construction Manager reports to PDC Group Manager.

PDC seeks a results-oriented professional to manage all aspects of University capital improvement projects, from project programming through occupancy of all University-owned and leased sites. This individual will lead the execution of multiple capital projects, ensuring goals are met on time and within budget, working either independently or as a project team member. The position is responsible for staff performance, leading development of systems, procedures, and policies that support optimum staff performance in the department.

Ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in project and personnel management in addition to their own capital projects. Candidate will bring a high level of expertise in communication skills, cost and schedule management, and leadership ability.

Position is full-time, term with an end date of two years from the date of hire. There is potential for term-to-regular staff transition, subject to funding and business needs of the organization at the end of the term.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 9 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

·Bachelor’s degree in related field such as architecture, engineering, construction management, or management.

·Demonstrated leadership and communication skills operating at a high level of integrity.

·Experience working with senior executive administration and executive clients.
