Position Summary | TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia is accepting applications for the position ofStudent Activities Specialist. Thisposition oversees, coordinates, and advises a variety of activities andprograms associated with student campus life, to include student government,student clubs, campus-wide events such as the Luminaria Stroll and Welcome BackDays, as well as other related student programs. The Student Activities Specialistdesigns/develops relevant marketing strategies and initiatives directed atstudents, prospective students, faculty, staff, and the general public andedits/coordinates distribution of a range of promotional publications. Thisposition oversees requests for use of outdoor areas of campus and permitrequirements for facilities usage and authorization of non-food vending oncampus. This position works someevenings and occasional weekends and represents the organization at communityand/or business meetings to promote existing and new programs. Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, theUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teachingexcellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, career andtechnical programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/Collegecourses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a studentbody of approximately 2,400 students per semester.
