The College of Arts and Sciences Advisement Center is excited to announce that we are hiring for a Student Recruitment Specialist. This position is directly tied to recruiting and retaining students. Under the supervision of the Director, this position will lead the charge of enhancing the recruitment activities of the college and all departments there in.
This position will represent the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) and promote our undergraduate programs to prospective students at recruitment events both on and off campus, through high school visits, community college visits as well as additional outreach and recruitment activities. This position will occasionally work evenings and weekends and occasionally travel to locations within the state to aid in delivery of services that best meet the needs of potential students and community partners.
The selected candidate will be coordinating A&S participation in on-campus events and programs targeted towards prospective students, parents and community members, including recruitment of faculty, staff, and college leadership to participate. In addition to coordination of events, this position will lead the effort to standardize recruitment materials and tabling efforts for the college. They will be responsible for the review and updating of presentation materials and web presence for this audience.
The selected candidate will maintain a record of all outreach and recruitment activities and create reports for college leadership. He/She will follow up with prospective applicants and will counsel them about opportunities within A&S in person, via e-mail communication and phone. He/She will connect them with appropriate academic advisors or departments, and assist with registrations and orientations.
The successful candidate:
· Must be flexible, patient and creative along with having a student-centered approach.
· Must commit to integrity and represent the college with honesty and pride.
· Must understand major programs and pre-admission requirements.
· Must be able to analyze and interpret student data, placement results and transcript(s).
· Must work closely with multiple student success units across the University.
· Will coordinate the ongoing strategic communications to prospective A&S students
|Conditions of Employment|
Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
