Position Summary | The UNM-Valencia Campus is currentlyaccepting applications for Student Success Specialist, Sr. The successful applicant will haveexperience supporting student success through wraparound services to include,but not limited to: academic advisement/success coaching of prospectivetransfer students, financial aid and scholarship support, facilitating academicsuccess workshops, tutoring and resource referral, early alert referrals andspecialized outreach for targeted student groups. The Student Success SpecialistSr. will act as student advocate and provide day-to-day problem solving asnecessary on student needs and issues in conjunction with staff and faculty.The applicant works as part of a dynamic team to implement new strategies andprocedures specific to UNM-Valencia. interacting with internal and externalconstituencies. This person will also track students’ academic and overallprogress in the programs and services provided to the student, ensuringcompliance with Federal, State, and University rules, regulations, andpolicies. Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of TheUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools inValencia and Socorro Counties.
