Position Summary

The Office for Community Health (OCH) is a key resource to New Mexico’s communities and operates under the Executive Vice President of Health Sciences. OCH’s many programs offer a diverse set of resources linking community health needs with University resources in all mission areas-clinical services, education, research and health policy.

This position will work under the Vice President for Community Health and will oversee the fiscal operations of the department. The ideal team member will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven professional with leadership skills to coordinate financial goals and fiscal work with personnel across multiple programs. This individual will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling the financial activities of all the programs within OCH which include I&G, Endowed and Non-Endowed funds, UNMH funded projects, and Sponsored Projects from federal, state, local and private funders. * This position will supervise accounting and finance staff.* Work with faculty on contract and grants budgeting and tracking. * Complete annual fiscal processes such as Categorization of Reserves, budget projections, and salary and budget planning* Advise programmatic staff and faculty on fiscal processes, policies and procedures

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* CPA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance

* Experience with University Policies/procedures, applicable local, state, and federal regulations and GAAP

* Proficient in MS Excel to analyze/interpret financial data and prepare reports

* Experience leading a finance team

* Experience in UNM finance systems such as Banner, LoboWeb, LoboMart, MyReports, Chrome River, etc.

* Experience with restricted (sponsored projects)

* Experience with UNM annual fiscal processes such as Categorization of Reserves, budget projections, and salary and budget planning
