Position Summary

The Graduate Resource Center (GRC) provides writing and statistics support and academic and professional development workshops for all graduate and professional students of the University of New Mexico. The GRC employs a team of graduate consultants who facilitate peer-to-peer interactions to create learning communities across disciplines.

Under general supervision of the Center for Teaching and Learning the GRC Student Success Supervisor:

  • Oversees daily operations of the Graduate Resource Center.

  • Develops evidence-based program innovations for the Graduate Resource Center.

  • Leads/Participates in campus-wide and national academic dialogues on graduate education, student development, and educational policy.

  • Liaises with campus communities to assess and meet graduate academic and professional needs.

  • Hires and evaluates graduate consultants in accordance with larger vision of a multicultural, multi-service resource center within the university.

  • Assesses Graduate Resource Center effectiveness.

  • Engages in research and data collection related to GRC student users and the UNM student population.

  • Maintains a rigorous training program aligned with national certification requirements.

  • Develops and implements new training ideas.

Additional participation in CTL includes:

Supports the day-to-day maintenance of CTL programs; problem-solves issues that arise while serving our student population; performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA or higher in an academic or professional field of study

  • Knowledge of current trends in higher education

  • Experience and knowledge in higher education issues affecting underrepresented students

  • Experience and knowledge in academic writing, teaching, and research

  • Knowledge and understanding of MA and PhD degree processes, challenges, and strategies for success

  • Experience in a higher education environment engaging in student success

  • Experience collaborating with university departments, faculty, and campus organizations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
