Supervisor of Student Success (internal title: AssistantDirector for Diversity & Public Service Initiatives)
The Assistant Director’s duties will include: (1) Managingthe School of Law’s pipelining initiatives, including developing, implementingand managing community outreach and pipeline initiatives to under-representedcommunities across the state, with a focus on identifying students with aspecial interest in social justice, race equity, and children and theirfamilies. (2) Creating and executing a recruitment plan for diverse populationsand prospective students interested in public interest/social justice,identifying key recruitment opportunities and integrating them into school’soverall recruitment activities. (3) Creating and delivering diversity recruitmentevents on and off campus. (4) Identifying and reporting on trends in minorityadmissions and career initiatives and statistics. (5) Designing reports ofrelevant data and metrics to improve admissions outcomes, student experience,and employment outcomes. (6) Administering diversity-related scholarshipapplications and awarding process in collaboration with Assistant Dean forAdmissions & Financial Aid. (7) Assisting with administration of theChild and Family Justice Advocates’ application and scholarship awardingprocess. (8) Representing the school at on-campus, local, and nationaladmissions and career services events, fairs, and conferences. (9) Meeting withprospective and admitted applicants and current students and provide adviceregarding admissions, diversity, and public interest/social justiceopportunities and issues. (10) Advising Child and Family Justice Advocatesregarding experiential opportunities and career planning. (11) Developingworkshops regarding careers in public interest/social justice and collaboratingwith the Child & Family Justice Center on other relevant programinitiatives, including mentorship program, speaker series, workshops, etc. (12)Preparing and updating materials regarding resources related to diversity-relatedand public interest/social justice career opportunities. (13) Collaboratingwith internal and external affinity groups and professional associations tofoster a dynamically diverse and inclusive learning environment and legalcommunity. (14) Providing advising and programming regarding loan repaymentoptions and loan forgiveness program to students and alumni. (15)Fostering positive relationships with employers throughout the state toincrease the connectivity of our students and alumni for externship, volunteer,and paid opportunities; connecting students interested in TransformativeAdvocacy Fellowships with potential host organizations through the Office ofStudent & Career Services.
|Conditions of Employment|
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
|Preferred Qualifications||Juris Doctor strongly preferred.|
