Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia campus is acceptingapplications for the position of Supv, Student Success (TRiO Upward Bound). This is a grant-funded position that ends 08/31/2025 and will be renewedannually based on availability of federal funding.

This role oversees the fulladministration and coordination of the TRiO Upward Bound project, includingfinancial and administrative management, personnel supervision, and theintegration of services with other college initiatives. Responsibilities also includecoordinating student intake and referrals, promoting staff development,managing evaluation efforts, preparing internal and external reports, andserving as the project’s representative in various forums. The Supervisor willoversee student records, data collection, reporting, budgeting, and all TRiOservice coordination.

This position provides wraparound services to support student success,including academic coaching/advising for high school students, financial aidguidance, academic success workshops, tutoring, and resource referrals. TheSupervisor serves as a student advocate, working closely with faculty and staffto address student needs, track student progress, and ensure compliance withfederal, state, and university policies.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of TheUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools inValencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student bodyof over 2,000 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Administration, Counseling or a related field
  • Four or more years' experience with grant administration, grant writing, and/or data analysis
  • Four or more years' experience working with first generation, disadvantaged students, and/or rural students
  • Four or more years' experience supervising staff and student workers
  • Four or more years’ experience with the financial aid and scholarship application process
  • Experience as a TRiO staff or student
  • Spanish/English Bilingual (written and verbal)
