Position Summary

InformationTechnologies at the University of New Mexico is seeking to hire a Systems/Networks Analyst 2 in the Data Networking Group. This position will be workingon the Campus Network team and will be responsible for installing, maintaining,and troubleshooting network issues, in a multi-vendor network environment.

Asa member of our team, this position will be responsible for the campusnetwork. This will involve triage,troubleshooting, network design, estimation for new projects, customer tickets,and new building construction/remodels.
Systems/Networks Analyst 2 are assigned mid-size to enterprise wide design projectsthat impacts the complete University network infrastructure.

Astrong knowledge of networking concepts is required for this position.

This specific role will involve leveraging variousautomation technologies/frameworks in tandem with network source-of-truth tomodernize campus network management. This includes the creation, maintenanceand documentation of automated workflows and processes to ease administrativeburden and promote stability within the University network including, but notlimited to, Python and Ansible.

Routing,firewalls, switching, VOIP, VPN, Datacenter networking (NSX) and cloudtechnologies knowledge is a plus.
Experiencewith network monitoring applications is a plus.

Thisposition includes an on-call rotation, and the selected individual will berequired to operate a vehicle to access various locations across campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Stronginterpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively withmembers of diverse communities.
Strong customer service focus.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Experience with the following:

  • Python
  • Ansible
  • Git
  • LLM AI Models (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)

Familiaritywith the following:

  • Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
  • CI/CD pipelines/workflows
  • Netbox
  • Valid driver’s license
