Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Information Technologies, WorkStation Management (WSM) department is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter, flexible and resourceful Systems/Network Analyst 2. Ideal candidate will have experience in managing Windows and Mac desktops, Microsoft Active Directory Organizational Unit (AD OU) Management, file and print services and basic network and security practices. In addition this position will assist in management of Microsoft and Apple workstations through Microsoft SCCM and JAMF. Successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills, a thorough understanding of IT systems management best practices and a well-developed sense of customer service for the values, practices and procedures found in a higher education environment.


  1. Responsible for managing WSM’s AD OUs including group policies, rights assignment, account management;
  2. Troubleshoots and resolves issues with workstations;
  3. Assists other Systems Analysts on various projects and tasks.
  4. Documents system information and processes.
  5. Documents and writes technical instructions.
  6. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant technologies, equipment, and/or systems.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  1. Bachelors degree in IT or related field.
  2. At least 2 years directly related experience.
  3. Firm understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, and Group policy Management.
  4. Firm understanding of file/print services and basic network functions.
  5. Experience in Windows and Mac OS.
  6. Experience in SCCM.
  7. Experience in JAMF.
