Position Summary | ****The final salary for this position is dependent upontotal Education and Experience**** The Department ofChemistry and Chemical Biology is looking for a Teaching Lab Tech for ourundergraduate teaching labs. This tech will be working with a current team ofother Techs in a dynamic group supporting numerous students per semester. Thisposition requires successful teamwork and an excitement for an academicenvironment. Student support is essential! Duties include, but arenot limited to: Preparing chemicals, lab equipment, and student drawers forteaching lab. Maintains laboratory facilities, instrumentation, and stockroomfor experiments. Plans laboratory exercises with faculty. Tests and conductsexperiments, exercises, instrumentation and demonstrations. Provides technicalassistance to staff and teaching assistants concerning experimentalpreparations and procedures. Ensures compliance with health and safetystandards of laboratory operations. The working schedule forthis position is variable, M-Th typically (Monday/Wednesday are typically11:30a - 9:30p; Tuesday/Thursday are typically 8:30a - 6:30p). Evening hoursare required. Work schedules may vary from semester to semester depending onstudent demand. Overtime hours will be required periodically. |

Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
