Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Information Technologies seeks a Technical Analyst 2 to join the Workstation Operations Team that is part of the Campus Outreach & Engagement program.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing Microsoft and Apple endpoints in a complex enterprise that supports a range of services and use sophisticated directory-based management tools such as SCCM/Intune, JAMF, with collaboration tools such as Bomgar/Teams/Zoom. The candidate will be part of a diverse team of technicians with a wide range of technical skills; all focused on the same goal and mission of making the university enterprise better than yesterday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides workstation & printer support as part of “managed workstation program” for over 25 departments and Campus Outreach and Engagement collaborators.
  2. Provides Tier2 level enterprise support for Microsoft 365, Antivirus, print server and classroom/lab support for all UNM users who are not supported by department IT.
  3. Provides centralized enterprise support for ~600 Macs in JAMF and ~3000 Windows systems in SCCM.
  4. Provides SME level support for JAMF/SCCM/M365 services. Performs as escalation point for Campus Outreach departments.
  5. Creates images in SCCM/JAMF and deploys new equipment to managed workstation customers.
  6. Performs Active Directory (AD) OU administration and management for all managed workstations customers.
  7. Supervises student employees and serves as technical escalation point for other team members on various projects and tasks.
  8. Assists in management of daily ticketing queue and assigns tickets to student employees.
  9. Installs, configures, maintains, and supports complex systems for managed customers.
  10. Provides network troubleshooting for workstations as it relates to AD, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, SMB/AFP shares.
  11. Documents processes and procedures and publishes them in a central location.
  12. Maintains current and up-to-date knowledge with respect to relevant technologies, equipment, and/or systems.
  13. Take lead for UKG Time Clock Management as well as training others in support.
  14. Will be lead for Surplus processes in coordination with Property Accounting, to include training other technicians in the surplus processes

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
