Position Summary

This position is for the University of New Mexico-GallupBranch located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch, Center forCareer and Technical Education (CCTE), seeks to hire temporary part-timefaculty members to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses(1000 level) in the Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

First Year Experience (FYEX) isdesigned to teach students to achieve greater success in college and lifethrough strategies for academic, professional, and personal success. Topics mayinclude career exploration, time management, study and test-taking strategies,adapting to different learning environments, interpersonal relationships,wellness management, financial literacy and campus/community resources.

FYEX 1030 Critical Text Analysis
FYEX 1110 First-Year Seminar

UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they areteaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assignedtimes that may include online, evenings and/or weekends, content delivery,assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, andassessment of student learning as outlined by the department chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to thedivision chair.

Wages
Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials andcredit hour course loads, as follows:

Master’s Degree, plus 12 hours ofteaching experience $1017.60
Master’s Degree, less than 12 hours of teachingexperience $1017.60

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High-school students teaching experience
  • College-level teaching experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diversecommunities
