Position Summary

PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch,located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch, Education,Health, and Human Services Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty toteach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses (100 Level) in theSpring, Summer, and Fall 2025 semesters in the following potential discipline:

Aerobic Dance
Archery
Ballroom Dance
Basketball
Bowling
Country Western Dance
Eskirma
Golf
Karate
Swimming
Volleyball

The UNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexicolocated approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque. The University ofNew Mexico established branch colleges to provide the highest quality ofeducation for students pursuing post-secondary education at different locationsthroughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needsand multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offeringcommunity education programs, career and technical education includingcertificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that preparestudents for upper division entry into colleges and universities.

The Education, Health and Human Services Division at UNMGallup Branch is seeking a qualified temporary part-time faculty member toteach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above.UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they areteaching including but not limited to meeting face-to-face with the classduring assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery,assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, andassessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidateswho are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Wages
Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials andcredit hour course loads.

Applied Tech, experience at Journeyman $1017.60

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • All instructors must possess current Standard Frist Aid and CPR certificates
  • Two years documented teaching experience
  • Verifiable years of experience participating or competing at an advance level in an activity may be substituted for years of teaching
  • For Swimming and Water Safety: instructor must possess current relevant instructor certificates from the American Red Cross
  • For Aerobic Dance: instructor must possess a current instructor certification from a regionally or nationally known institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education
  • College teaching experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
