UNM Taos anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Spring 2019 Semester and also Fall of 2019 in the Digital Media Arts Department.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the Department Chair of DMA, Peter Walker.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach:
CT 113LT. MULTI-MEDIA 1. (3) Creating original 2d Animation Projects and keeping a Animation Sketchbook, the student will learn 2d animation, video editing and multimedia publishing using a variety of media programs (Gimp, Krita, I-movie, Garageband). Students will learn the fundamentals of video editing by learning the importance of workflow combining image, sound, animation and text for output to various file formats for computer, and the Web. Students will produce 4 projects each semester and 35 Sketchbook Storyboard Entries.
This course is a UNM Taos Dual Credit Course and will be taught in the computer lab at Taos High School

Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and may be met in one of two ways:
1. BA/BS in the field and/or an industry certification or credential; 3-5 years of experience in professional practice in the industry.
3. Teaching Media Experience + Professional Media Work
4. Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
5. Successful teaching in a community college
6. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
