Position Summary

LLSS is recruiting for Part-TimeInstructors in the following areas:

American Indian Education,Bilingual Education, TESOL Education, Educational Thought and Sociocultural Studies,Literacy and Languages, and Qualitative research. For more information about the specific courses, please visitthe UNM Catalog. http://catalog.unm.edu/catalogs/2022-2023/

The hired part time instructorsare expected to teach undergraduates and graduates in LLSS courses related tothe Department programs. This faculty member will be expected to participate inenhancing the coherence and effectiveness of the teacher preparation programs.

LLSS is recruiting qualified instructors for the followingcourses:

LLSS453/580, Theoreticaland Cultural Foundations of Bilingual Education/ Educ. Bilingual Studies
LLSS 315, Educating Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students
LLSS 321, School and Society
LLSS 432, Teaching of Social Studies
LLSS 459/ LLSS 559, Second Language Literacy
LLSS 482/581, Teaching English as a Second Language
LLSS 570, Science and Native American Education


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in the discipline or subfield.
  • Two years of successful teaching experience related to course topic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in Education, TESOL, or closely related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching(grades K-12) in public schoolsin the U.S.
  • An interest or experience in teaching the specific course(s)
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,inclusion, and studentsuccess, as well as working with broadly diverse
    communities
