Position Summary

Fine Arts, Main Campus anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Summer Fall 2018 and/or Spring 2019 Semesters in the Department of Theatre and Dance to teach and/or develop Upper and Lower Division Courses as needed. Anticipated openings potentially include the following subjects:

Theatre Appreciation, Acting, Physical Theatre, Lighting for Theatre, Sound for Theatre

Dance Appreciation, Ballet, Modern, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Music for Dancers, Choreography, Kinesiology

Accompanists for Modern, Flamenco, Ballet, African, and Musical Theatre

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and
demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the Department Chair.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications must be consistent with Higher Learning Commission standards and compliant with the faculty hiring guidelines.

  • Master’s degree in the discipline or subfield;
    or
  • Successful completion of at least 18 graduate
    credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield; or
  • Ability to demonstrate tested experience that the Department of Theatre and Dance has determined to be equivalent to a Master’s degree in the discipline or subfield.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching/Accompanist experience in a post-secondary institution
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
