Position Summary

The UNM Women Studies Program anticipates hiring a Part Time Instructor to teach a section of WMST 379 for the Fall semester of 2019. This course will be a service learning course in the area of Museum Studies.

The Women Studies Program is seeking a qualified part time instructor to teach an undergraduate course in the subject of Museum Studies as a service learning course. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of the course they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the department.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. The candidates selected for this position will report to the Program Director, Dr. Scarlett Higgins.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in Women Studies, Museum Studies, or a related field completed by start date of the hire.

2. At least two years post-secondary teaching experience in Women Studies and/or Museum Studies, or a related field at the undergraduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. At least two years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Women Studies, Museum Studies, or related fields.

2. Demonstrable excellence in teaching.

3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
