Position SummaryThe UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking candidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach History courses, both online and face-to-face. This will be a continuous recruitment starting in the spring 2019 semester. The posting will remain open and applicants will be selected as needed per semester. For best consideration for the spring please apply by 11/1/2018, for the summer please apply by 04/01/2019.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 credit students per semester.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in History with Western Civilization or NM History as a subfield.
  • One year post-secondary teaching experience in the topic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of teaching experience in the the filed of NM History or Western Civilization both online and face-to-face courses, at the community college level.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
