Temporary Part Time Faculty of Physical Therapy – Anatomy - req# 34169

The Division of Physical Therapy at the Health SciencesCenter School of Medicine Campus has a temporary part time faculty positionavailable to assist the instructor in teachingHuman Anatomy 1 and 2.  These courses will involve dissectionand study of the human body.  Lecturematerial will highlight the nervous system; osteology of the upper and lowerextremities, and spinal column; the vascular system and the muscular system ofthe body; the physiology of the cavities (cardiac, pleural and peritoneal); anda beginning of neuro anatomy through the dissection and study of the head andneck.

These courses are taught to first year students from MWF from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 10/13/2025 - 3/6/2026. The salary for this assignment will be $11,840.   

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5 or more years’ experience as a physical therapist;
• The ability to physically dissect human tissue.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Evidence of continuing education in courses requiring the utilization of anatomy
• Prior lab assistance in gross anatomy
• Advanced degree or other additional education and clinical experience
• A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
