Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking candidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach Developmental Mathematics Courses. This will be a continuous recruitment starting in fall 2019 semester. The posting will remain open and applicants will be selected as needed per semester. For best consideration for the fall please apply by 07/05/2019.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field/degree
  • Minimum of 24 credit hours in college mathematics and/or mathematics education courses including three semesters of calculus. Minimum transcript requirement must include successful completion of mathematics courses through third-semester calculus
  • Two years of experience teaching or tutoring in Mathematics or related field/degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's, PhD, ABD, or EdD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or related field/or 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
