Position Summary

TheSocial Sciences Division is seeking Temporary Part-Time Faculty members toteach 1000-2000 level Education courses in Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025. Positionsare contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels and current course offerings. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadlinefor students to drop or add courses.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of TheUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools inValencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student bodyof over 2,000 students per semester. UNM has earned the platinum-level distinction from FamilyFriendlyNM.org forits workplace policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Education
  • One year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adoctoral degree in Education.
  • One year of teaching experience at a community college.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and studentsuccess, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
