Position SummaryThe UNM-Valencia Campus is acceptingapplications for temporary, part-time faculty to teach Freshman and Sophomorelevel Mathematics and Statistics courses. If online teaching is needed,documented accepted training and/or in-house training would be required. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined bystudent enrollment levels and current course offerings. This is a continuousrecruitment beginning in the fall 2025 semester.

Locatedabout 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University ofNew Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of NewMexico, which functions as a community college in the region and is designateda Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence,Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, AdultEducation, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and SocorroCounties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000students per semester. UNM has earned the platinum-level distinction fromFamilyFriendlyNM.org for its workplace policies.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics or Master’s degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics.
  • Two years of experience teaching freshman and/or sophomore-level Mathematics courses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., ABD, or EdD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of successful teaching experience at a community college.
  • Documented training to teach online classes.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,inclusion, student success, and working with broadly diverse communities.
