Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking candidatesfor temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000and 2000 level psychology courses both online and face-to-face. This will bea recruitment beginning with the fall 2024 semester. Positions are contingent upon need each semesteras determined by student enrollment levels, courses on the current courseschedule, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may befilled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop oradd courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will reportto the Division Chair.

Located about 30 miles south ofAlbuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-ValenciaCampus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico whichfunctions as a community college in the region and is designated a HispanicServing Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, ValenciaCampus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education,and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,400 students persemester. UNMhas earned the platinum-level distinction from FamilyFriendlyNM.org for itsworkplace policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Psychology.
  • One year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adoctoral degree in Psychology.
  • One year of teaching experience at a community college.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and studentsuccess, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
