Position Summary

UNMFacilities Management (FM) has a great opportunity for highly motivatedindividuals to join our team in the Grounds & Landscaping division asa Turf Tech. The qualified candidate will irrigate, mow, rake, trim, andseed lawns. He/she will also be responsible for applying fertilizer, prepareareas for new turf and operate various grounds equipment.

FacilitiesManagement is responsible for the care and upkeep of the physical campusenvironment that covers 680 acres of land.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Operating various equipment such: riding mowers, sprayers, aerators, and/or small tractors.
  • Snow and ice removal operations.
  • Grounds maintenance and turf equipment operations.
  • Proper preparation of areas for new turf and/or seed.
  • Preferred current NMDA Pesticide Licensure.
