Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides a variety of technical supportservices for in-studio and remote field television productions, specialprojects, and station outreach activities. Transports, sets up, and operates avariety of television equipment; assists with editing of material; assists withstaging, set preparation and dressing; and assists in studio and equipmentmaintenance.

  • Prepares studio with requested equipment and sets for meetings,teleconferences, special events, and studio tours.
  • Performs video logging andtimecode window dubs; prepares library materials for integration intoproductions; performs video and audio library retrieval.
  • Moves and sets lightsas required, ensuring proper light levels and conformance to lighting plans.
  • Operates audio boards, tape machines andmicrophones to ensure proper audio levels and sound quality.
  • Completes trouble and preventive maintenancereports on video and audio production equipment; assists in repair and upkeepof studio and production sets and properties.
  • May edit on-line and off-linematerial.
  • May produce and edit shortsegments and spots.
  • May keep records andschedules of facility use.
  • May leadand/or guide the work of others including interns, volunteers, and studentemployees.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-relatedduties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Good understanding ofstorytelling techniques for media platforms such as broadcasting and theinternet
  • Good working knowledge ofprofessional video production equipment for both studio and field production
  • Strong working knowledge ofprofessional editing equipment and use, including technical understanding ofnon-linear editing, overall editing workflow, program mastering, and archiving
  • Strong understanding and use of Avid editing platform
  • Strongworking knowledge of professional graphics design equipment and use, includingworkflow, designing graphics for television, and designing animations as wellas still graphics
  • Strongunderstanding and use of the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop andAfter Effects.
