Position Summary | The Departmentof Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of New Mexico (UNM)Health Sciences Center is expanding and seeks an outstanding vitreoretinalsurgeon to join our rapidly growing group. This positions expertise will significantly contribute to thepreservation and restoration of vision in our patients. Applicants musthave completed an accredited vitreoretinal surgery fellowship. The successfulcandidate will be expected to develop a busy clinical practice at the UNMHospital Eye Clinic, and will share responsibility with existing faculty forcall and medical student and resident education. Candidates are expected tohave a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching, and research in anacademic setting. As part of the UNM Health System, the Eye Clinic provides arewarding mix of tertiary and indigent care. UNM is committedto building a healthy, well-educated, economically vigorous New Mexico. TheHealth Sciences Center and School of Medicine have new leadership, and theentire institution is well poised for the future. We are dedicated toproviding state-of-the-art treatments, cutting-edge research, and education.Our team of medical professionals is passionate about making a positive impacton the lives of our patients. This position may be subjectto criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico state law. Rank and salary will becommensurate with experience and credentials. The Sandia Mountain wilderness is 20 minutes from UNM. There is alively arts scene, and we are close to the galleries of Santa Fe and Madrid,NM.
